授業概要
This course is designed for students who will write their theses on phonetics and phonology. We will read a number of articles related to the topics students are working on. Topics in the first semester include intonation, gender and politeness, foreign-accent, and stylistic differences. All students are required to critically review the articles and actively participate in class discussions. Throughout the course, students will be introduced to techniques for creating an outline and collecting data for academic papers on phonetics and phonology.
